Adaptive is a format where both players evaluate the deck each player brings and decide which deck they would rather play in the matchup. If the players choose different decks, they play a game with the chosen deck (even if it is the deck the opponent brought!). If they choose the same deck, players bid chains on the right to play that deck in the matchup. The winner plays the chosen deck with the number of chains bid on the deck.

Since this format sometimes results in your opponent playing your deck, it is strongly recommended to make sure your deck is sleeved.
